Archaeology from a Navajo Archaeologist

Ya’ at’eeh (Hello) from the northern portion of the Navajo Reservation.  Finally inhouse after a long week in the field performing archaeological inventory on our reservation. The archaeological inventory was performed on a proposed power line  that will service Navajo clients that currently have no power to their homes. It is so rewarding to be able to help in the development of our fellow Navajo people here on our reservation. After 35 or more years, as an Navajo archaeologist, some of our people our finally accepting the fact that archaeology should not be frowned on and they should not be afraid of it. They are realizing the need for it. A major breakthrough. Yes!!!
